CE Course Description

Spousal-Partner Abuse explores the complex dynamics, assessment, and treatment of intimate partner violence (IPV) from a clinical perspective. Designed for mental health and substance use professionals, this course provides an in-depth look at the psychological, social, and systemic factors that sustain abuse—and the pathways to recovery. Through current research, case examples, and trauma-informed approaches, participants learn how to assess risk, develop safety plans, and deliver culturally responsive interventions for survivors and perpetrators. Emphasis is placed on collaboration among healthcare, legal, and community systems to promote safety, empowerment, and prevention. This comprehensive training strengthens competence, compassion, and ethical practice in addressing one of society’s most urgent public health concerns.
